blog number one!
Dear Diary,
Today I woke up on the floor (comfortably) at my friend Lisa's house in Eugene. This was a good thing! The night before she made me a fancy dinner of shrimp curry, rice, and asparagus It was so good! We also drank some tasty chilled white wine and watched the movie; Forgetting Sarah Marshall on the computer. I had seen it once before, but had forgotten how funny it was. At one point, I think some chilled wine came out my nostrils. Lisa made a warm fire in the wood stove. My belly was full and I slept like a log.
Then I got up and walked to the store to buy milk and get a cup of joe. When I got home, Lisa was up and making more coffee. The sun came out and I spent the rest of the day doing errands around Eugene. Now that I live in Portland I have such a fresh perspective of Eugene. Everything seems so familiar and yet new and refreshing. Eugene now seems so small and slow and "earthy." Like eating a bowl of granola in a tent in the woods. When I wrote the song Leaving Eugene, I was pretty mocking of her. I tend to tease those things I love. I also like to play with perspective and pretend to love things I hate, and hate things I love.
Well, so far it's been a pretty good day and I need to get back to Portland to take care of business in the big city.
I would like to thank the Universe for all the things I have; like this website and so many friends, and for curing my athletes foot, and also for my mom who helped me with the rent.
Thank You!
